General rules
  • Abstract Submission Deadline: 24th May 2019
  • Communication to authors on approved/rejected abstracts and type of presentation (Oral/Poster): from27th May 2019
  • The congress has two official languages: English and Portuguese
Posters
 
Posters should be printed in A0 size (H: 84,1 cm x V:118,9 cm) and vertical (portrait) orientation.
Posters should be saved and submitted in jpeg format through the link https://ciiemcongress.com/poster-image-submission-form-2/ until Sunday 2th June, to be considered for the Best Poster Award.
The best poster will be awarded with a free registration at one of the 2020 Workshops or a free registration on the 5th International Congress of CiiEM.

 

Posting and retrieving of posters:

Participants bringing posters should go to the HELPDESK-POSTER for information. The HELPDESK-POSTER will provide the poster location and the assessment times.

Posters should be affixed on the first day of the congress and collected on the last day (without prejudice to posting and collecting only on the day they are registered at the congress).

Evaluation:

There will be two poster sessions in each congress day. The first daily session is used to discuss ideas, while the second daily session is used for poster assessment by the thematic area congressmen and committee members.  will have contact with the posters presented at the congress. During the afternoon coffee break the panel of evaluators will have the opportunity. During the afternoon session, the author (s) of the poster (s) should be close to them, allowing the clarification of issues that arise from the evaluators.

Instructions to Moderators

It is up to the moderators to ensure the strict compliance with the time of each oral / symposium session. There should be a reasonable time for discussion at the end of each session.

Abstracts
 
Each participant can submit 2 abstracts as first author, and only can present a maximum of 2 works. However, can submit in co-authoring any number of abstracts. The abstracts have one A4 sized page. Abstracts include six sections: 1) Introduction; 2) Materials and Methods; 3) Results 4) Discussion and Conclusions; 5) References and 6) Acknowledgments (Check the template).
 
When appropriate, a statement should be included in the Materials and Methods section indicating that the informed consent of the subjects and acceptance of the study protocol by a local ethics committee has been obtained.
 
Number references consecutively in the order in which they are first mentioned in the text. Identify references in the text, tables and legends by Arabic numerals within parentheses, e.g. (1) List all authors when 6 or fewer; when 7 or more, list the first six and add et al. Page numbers are given as “2284-90”, not “2284-2290”.

The abstracts must be prepared with the utmost care to ensure strict adherence to the instructions in this page and in the abstract template. Misformatted abstracts will be returned to the authors for correction before they can be verified and accepted. 
 
The final decision regarding the type of communication will be made by the Organizing Committee and communicated to the authors until the specified deadline.
 
Publication in Journal Annals of Medicine
A Peer review process will take place after the Congress to help the authors to improve their abstracts if needed, ensuring the high publication standards of the journal. Acceptance for publication depends on this Peer Review and not on the prior acceptance of the communication.
