Nuno AF Simões coordinates the Nursing Training and Research Center and the Nursing Research and Innovation Working Group at Centro Hospitalar Barreiro Montijo, EPE. He is a member of the Clinical Research Center and the Quality Improvement Projects Working Group.
Nuno coordinates the Post-Graduation in Health Management and Innovation at ESESFM.

Silvia Azinheiro
Degree in Nursing from the Escola Superior de Saúde da Cruz Vermelha Portuguesa since 2000, having previously been a bachelor. She has been a specialist nurse in Rehabilitation since 2010, a title awarded by Universidade Atlântica. In 2021 she completed a Postgraduate Degree in Health Management at the Escola Superior de Saúde da Cruz Vermelha Portuguesa.
She started his professional life at Hospital de Santa Maria, in the service of Central Emergency, Lisbon in 1996. Between 1998 and 2000 she taught and was Clinical Supervisor of undergraduate students in different contexts (medical and surgical specialties) at the Escola Superior de Enfermagem da Cruz Vermelha Portuguesa. From 2012 to 2019 she was Head Nurse of the Medical and Imaging Services at Centro Hospitalar Universitário Lisboa Norte (CHULN). Since 2020 she has worked at the Nursing Training and Research Office (GFIE) at CHULN.

Richard Watt
Richard is a Professor and Honorary Consultant in Dental Public Health, in the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health at UCL. He is the Director of the WHO, Collaborating Centre on Oral Health Inequalities and Public Health and is also Director of Research for Central North West London NHS Foundation Trust. He graduated from University of Edinburgh Dental School in 1984 and then completed a MSc and PhD in Dental Public Health at UCL.
His main research interests focus on social and commercial determinants of health inequalities and the development and evaluation of community-based health improvement interventions. He is currently the co-chair of the Lancet Commission on Oral Health and is a NIHR Senior Investigator. He has published more than 317 publications and secured £15 million in research income from NIHR, MRC, ESRC and NIDCR. In 2014 he received the IADR Distinguished Scientist Award for Behavioural, Epidemiologic and Health Services Research and in 2020 the IADR Distinguished Scientist Award for Global Oral Health Research. He is a past president of British Association for the Study of Community Dentistry.

Ana Isabel Costa
Ana Isabel Costa is a FCT Principal Investigator in Marketing and Consumer Behavior at Católica-Lisbon’s School of Business and Economics, since January 2017. Holds a PhD in Consumer Behavior and New Product Development (Wageningen University), a Master in Management Food Quality ( University of Ghent) and a Degree in Agro-Industrial Engineering (Lisbon Technical University). Also holds a postgraduate degree in Research Methods in Economics Applied to Management (Universities of Groningen and Erasmus of Rotterdam). Also was a Senior Scientist KLEAR in Consumer Behavior at the School of Biotechnology of Católica-Porto, an FCT Science Assistant Researcher at Católica-Lisbon and a FCT Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in the Marketing and Statistics Department of Aarhus School of Business and in the Management Department from the University of Évora. Also was an Assistant Researcher at the Livestock Research Institute at Wageningen University, PhD Fellowship at FCT at Wageningen University and Category Manager at Jerónimo Martins Group.
Research interests are the self-regulation of consumption behaviors, the relationship between food consumption, diet and health, innovation and the development of new products in the food industry, and, more recently, persuasive technologies https: // www.foodbehaviourlab.com/. Is currently responsible for the participation of the Portuguese Catholic University in the research project SUSINCHAIN - SUSINCHAIN - SUStainable INsect CHAIN, funded by the Horizon 2020 program and coordinated by the Department of Animal Production at the University of Wageningen, as well as a researcher responsible for the E projects -PRIMEMEAL, financed by FCT and FEDER, and HOW WE EAT WHAT WE EAT, financed by the Francisco Manuel dos Santos Foundation.
Ana Isabel Costa is a teacher responsible for teaching the subjects of Marketing Topics and Psychology and Public Policy at the Catholic University of Portugal.
Ana Sofia Santos
Ana Sofia Santos has a degree in Zootechnical Engineering (UTAD), a Master in Animal Production (FMV-ULisboa) and a PhD in Animal Science (UTAD). She is currently General Director for Science and Innovation at the FeedInov Collaborative Laboratory, where she is responsible for implementing the strategic agenda for innovation in this CoLab. She is also Vice-President of the Animal Task Force (ATF), President of the Portuguese Association of Zootechnical Engineering (APEZ), member of the national council of the College of Agricultural Engineering of the Order of Engineers and mother of three, aged between 18 and 5 years. She develops her activity in the sustainability and ecosystem services of animal production systems and is particularly interested in issues related to communication in the area of animal science.
Daniel Murta
Daniel Murta, born in Portalegre, Portugal, in 1984, completed his master’s degree in veterinary medicine in 2009 and his PhD in veterinary science in 2014, being an assistant professor of physiology and animal reproduction at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Universidade Lusofona since then and until 2021, when he embraced a new challenge as Scientific Officer at Egas Moniz School of Veterinary Medicine.
Founded EntoGreen in 2014, dedicated to developing the production of insects as animal feed on an industrial scale. Co-founder of Portugal Insect, the Portuguese association of insect producers in 2018, and is presently the insect industry representative at the Insect Study Commission of the European Federation of Animal Science.
Joana Vieira
Master in Communication Sciences at the Faculty of Human Sciences of the Catholic University of Portugal, Joana Vieira had her first contact with journalism at SIC, where she interned in the production of “Grande Reportagem”, having even participated in the award-winning report on the BPN case - “ Fraude ”. She was also a journalist at Quest21 Publishing - a producer in the area of health, lifestyle and business communication - and, later, a content manager at the Communication and Image Office of the “Ordem dos Enfermeiros”. She currently assumes the editorial direction of two specialized publications of the IFE by Abilways group: Veterinaria Atual and Saúde Oral.
She has seven years of experience in content production in the health field.
Manuel Pequito
Manuel Pequito is the Coordinator of the Egas Moniz’s Integrated Master in Veterinary Medicine. After obtaining the Veterinary Medicine Degree, at Lisbon Technical University, Manuel went to the Liège University, where he was a Clinician at the Equine Hospital and obtained a “Diplôme d’Études Complémentaires – Option Équidés”, as well as a “Diplôme d’Études Avancés” as well as a PhD in Veterinary Sciences. Manuel worked full time at the University of Liège between 2001 and 2004 and between 2005 and 2008 completed partially an ECEIM alternative residency-training program.
Between 2005 and 2009, Manuel was an Equine Clinician at Chantilly, France, where he practiced mainly with racing thoroughbreds in training.
Manuel returned to Portugal in 2009, to lecture Equine Internal Medicine at the Lusófona University, where he was a member of the Scientific Council and of the Ethics and Welfare Commission. He was the Coordinator of the Equine Clinics Academic Division, as well as the International Coordinator. He also organized Post-Graduation Courses in Equine Biomechanics, Medicine and Emergencies. Manuel left Lusófona University in 2019.
Manuel was a Researcher in a Foundation for Science and Technology founded project (2011-2014) and was the Principal Investigator of a Foundation for Science and Technology founded project (2018-2019), both on Equine Biomechanics. He authored national and international scientific articles, as well as oral and panel presentations.
Manuel was part of the Direction of the Portuguese Society of Veterinary Sciences (2016-2019), of the General Assembly of the Portuguese Association of Equine Veterinarians (2018-2020), of the Direction of the Portuguese Association of Equine Veterinarians (2020-2021) and of the Southern Council of the Portuguese Veterinary Medical Council (2020-).
Margarida Simões
Margarida is both a human nurse and a veterinarian, holder of a PhD in Veterinary Sciences, with a keen interest in community health and transdisciplinary approaches for One Health.
Currently, working as an Assistant Professor at the Veterinary Medicine Dept. at UÉvora, she participates in projects that aim for a better characterisation of zoonotic viral diseases transmission, risk evaluation, decision-making and intersectoral communication. Olga Moreira

Director of the Portuguese Research Station of Animal Production, (EZN-INIAV) (Since 2014). Head of the Animal Feeding and Nutrition Department at EZN-INIAP (2002-2008). Research work developed in the area of Feeding and Nutrition. Actually, the research interests are focused on Circular Economy and Zero residue and on the use of agro industrial byproducts, new protein legumes, microalgae and insects (BSF) as protein sources in feeding. Is leading the area of Environmental Impact and Climatic Changes in livestock production, at INIAV, coordinating institutional participation in three projects: ALGAVALOR - Microalgae: integrated production and valorisation of biomass and its various applications (2018-2021); ENTOVALOR – Insects as an opportunity in residues valorisation (2016-2020) and MICROGASTRICS – Developing novel feed enzymes for improving the nutritional value of microalgae for monogastrics (2015-2018).
The area of Environmental Impact and Climatic Changes in livestock production, which is leading at INIAV is also a priority. Coordinates the Operational Group, GOEFLUENTS - Livestock Effluents: farm scale effluent management towards agronomic and energetic valorisation.
As a follow up of this project and within the scope of the Portuguese Innovation Agenda 2030 ‘Terra Futura’, of the Ministry of Agriculture, began the implementation of a LIVING LAB on the topic of Effluents and coproducts of the livestock activity (2021-2025).
Another challenge is the coordination of the Project INIAV-EZN – Center for the Excellence in Agriculture and Agro industry (CEAAI) on Research and Innovation Infrastructures. (2019-2022).
